Family Video
The Family Video can be enjoyed as pure entertainment. Think of it as a multi-media scrapbook. Unlike a conventional scrapbook, our Memory Videos can incorporate moving pictures, spoken words, music and sound effects, making for truly extraordinary viewing experiences.
Themes presented in our Memory Videos are subdivided into topics. The Family Video covers dating, marriage, babies, child’s play, ballerinas, baseball, birthdays, family vacations, the teen years and graduation.
Changing topics in the video is the same as turning pages in a scrapbook. In the Memory Video, each topic is introduced with photos from the Memory Book, developed through the presentation of a music video, and finally personalized through reminiscing by a peer of the viewer.
Benefits
• Creates opportunities for connection
• Stimulates and entertains
• Eases the difficulties of caregiving
Special DVD Features
The DVD also features interactive Memory CPR™ activities (Connect•Pause•Reflect, Sing Along, I remember…)
Connect • Pause • Reflect This version of the show supports discussion and scrapbooking activities. When you play it, the show automatically stops at the end of each Topic. Watching one Topic at a time helps focus the viewer and makes it easier to talk about what has just been seen and heard.
The automatic stop works particularly well when working with the Family Memory Book.
Sing Along This activity is easy and fun. The lyrics for seven songs featured in the show are presented on the TV screen as the music plays. Sing, dance and have fun.
I remember… The personal stories told by the men and women that appear in the show are presented here. These vignettes can also be used to launch Memory CPR discussions.
With a little effort, you will discover that these simple activities can be used effectively to connect and interact with the person in your care. Once you’ve mastered the basics, you’ll discover new and creative ways to share memories when you visit Memory Lane together.
