Our Connect and Reflect Kit is a media system specifically designed for people living with memory loss and their caregivers.
Why use themes?
Memory Lane videos, CDs and memory books are organized around familiar themes that most people have deeply rooted in their past. Familiar music and images prime personal recollection, making it easier for people to remember events from their own personal histories.
See it. Hear it. Do it.
Research has shown that we collect information through three main sensory channels – seeing, hearing and doing. We also know that the most effective way to assimilate new information is experiencing it through all three channels. The components of the Connect and Reflect Kit present the theme in three different formats – the Memory Video to see it and hear it, the Memory CD to hear it, and the Memory Book to see it and do it. These presentation options allow the same content to be delivered to the viewer in a variety of ways.
Again and again. That’s OK.
Repetition is a powerful learning strategy. We have intentionally used familiar themes, topics, images, music and sound effects in an attempt to stimulate latent or residual memories. With repeated use, you may notice that a viewer does not remember specifics, but will demonstrate a growing familiarity with the content presented in the Memory Video, Memory Book and Memory CD.
